I have two Win7 Media Center machines with tuners and a WHS (Windows Home Server).  I use the archive function of the WHS to copy recorded programs to the WHS Recorded TV folder so that either machine can see programs recorded by the other machine.  While the programs are recording on the individual machines, I use Show Analyzer to scan them for commercials and produce the commercial information (*.xml) file which is saved in the Public folder on the WHS (again so either machine can access the commercials file during playback.)

I put an entry in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Herman van Eijk\MceStandbyTool\Non Idle Applications for the ShowAnalyzerEngine.exe and when I view the log files it looks like MST is recognizing it ok.  Here is a section of the log file.

Tue 24 Aug 2010 16:53:37.436 - AwakeState: AS_MEDIACENTER
Tue 24 Aug 2010 16:53:37.441 - 0 0 0 0 1 0
Tue 24 Aug 2010 16:53:37.445 - ExecutionState: 1

Did we ever get a solution to this issue? I have the same problem and would really like to see it solved.

Thanks.

Jeppe

One problem I have is that with the MST tool open, ShowAnalyzerEngine doesn't show as one of the "Sleep Stoppers" when you press the "Show Sleep Stoppers" button on the Windows Idle tab of MST.

The second problem I have is that although the Windows.Home.Server.Archive.Transfer.Service does show as a "Sleep Stopper" when you press the button, it apparently doesn't stop the computer from going to sleep,

On the following log a recording was started at 16:07 which ended at 16:33. As you can see the machine entered standby at 16:33:00.  I know the Archive Service was running at the time because the wtv-temp file that it creates
on the WHS while transferring was there but it looks like only about one-third the file was transferred.  Since the Archive Program is a Service and is always running, I can't add it to the idle applications because it runs
continiously.  Any suggestions on how to solve the problem or why the Archive Service isn't keeping MST from entering standby would be appreciated.

In this latest version, what does    WAKE MONITOR/TV actually do ?
Is this related to HDMI ?

Only a question, I am have NO issues with this latest version and is running very well.. thank U for your effort.

I found the following in a previous post.

The debug tab contains a new checkbox "Wake monitor/TV at resume", this should prevent the black screen on resume on some HDMI connected TVs (often combined with ATI videocards). Please report success/failure!

How exactly is this accomplished ?  Is this an HDMI line reset or does it use another method ?

THanks

On my install of this beta, I am unable to enable or disable the checkboxes on the Devices tab.  Clicking refresh updates the list, and I can go into device manager to change the power management on a device, but the checkboxes are unresponsive.  Anyone else have this problem?  I'm using Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and just did a clean install (for other reasons) and the situation is the same.

Hi!
I'd love to autostart MediaBrowser when eHome starts.
I know MediaBrowser's entrypoint id, name, title and so on...

Is there a way to achieve this?

Thanks,
Luca.

Does MST also work when MCE is closed?
My PC goes to sleep mode when MCE is opened and that's good but when MCE is closed my PC won't go into sleep mode.

Is anyone having issues with 0.9.100 working on Windows 7 Ultimate x64? I have been using 0.9.098 and that one loads into the system tray but for some reason, when I install 0.9.100; the system tray icon never comes up and the executable doesn't show that it is running in Task Manager. I looked at the RUN key in the registry and it is set to load with the "mst.exe engine" command but it never loads. I also tried double-clicking on the executable from the "Program Files (x86)" directory but it never shows in Task Manager when I try it that way either..

Even stranger, normally after installing the older versions such as 0.9.098 and 0.9.099, the configure window pops up immediately for me to configure the power sleep state. When I run the installer for 0.9.100, it never does that either. The new registry values are in the registry but it doesn't appear that anything is ever executing or working.

Hopefully someone else has experienced this behavior and possibly knows how to fix it? I re-installed 0.9.099 and it's working for now.. I would like to have the new beta working so my WHS backups can be successful! Any help is appreciated!

Further testing I now have 0.99.100 launching. I had to create a scheduled task execute with the "highest privileges" on user logon as opposed to using the Registry Run key. I have also found that choosing the "Configure" option from the system tray icon works if I click on it when logged in locally. I normally close MCE and do administrative changes to my MCE computer via RDP. When I try the "Configure" option from RDP, nothing appears for me to make any changes. The previous versions did not exhibit this behavior. Now that I have a workaround, I can beta test 0.99.100! Is there some other method I can try so I can RDP and configure MST via the GUI Configure option or is this a change that I will need to get used to?

I also get this problem on my freshly built W7 64-bit system. Is it a 'privileges' issue - I did reboot and restart the app as 'administrator' but makes no difference?

Hi,

I've got a small problem all of a sudden whenever the computer goes into hibernation or comes out via MCE standby recordings don't start until Media centre is opened, does anyone have any ideas as how to fix this it's happening on a very frequent basis and a reinstall of Windows hasn't helped.

The problem is most probably a corrupt epg guide, what you need to do is find the file mcepg* in windows 7 this will be found under: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome or where the drive letter is your system file. I would also recommend making sure your bios is up to date as well but also have a look under services.msc to see whether the windows media centre services are listed these are the reciever and scheduler services.

I have just cracked the problem on my machine, but I don't think it'll wake from hibernation for recordings as what I seem to have experinced and I may have accidently disabled sleep in the bios, which I'll need to re-activate.
